If you’re thinking about separating or have decided to take the plunge and are getting divorced, you are not alone. The world of celebrity is also suffering with its own fair share of lost love and breakup.
Can you still get divorced in lockdown?
In February we were sad to hear that The Queen’s Grandson Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn were getting divorced after 11 years of marriage. Vanity Fair reported that a family friend revealed, “This is something of a conscious uncoupling. There is no acrimony, very sadly they have grown apart. The ideas that Peter was blindsided isn’t correct. They have been having discussions about their marriage for some time and the family have been aware that things haven’t been going well since last autumn”.
Negotiate your way through divorce without going to court
Peter and Autumn got hitched back in 2008 and it seems that Autumn has no plans to move back to her home country of Canada as the children are very much settled in Gloucestershire. Maybe they will end up living “apart but together” like Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson who live in Royal Lodge in Windsor. The couple divorced in 1996 and Sarah reportedly moved into the home which is located in Windsor Great Park, in 2008.

The Boyzone breakup
In April Boyzone start Shane Lynch revealed that he was splitting with his wife of 13 years. Hello Magazine wrote that the singer had admitted that they had “been at each others throats during lockdown”. With divorce figures apparently on the rise due to the coronavirus situation, it seems that they were not the only couple heading to the divorce courts. However, according to the Daily Mail, the couple are now very much happily reconciled.
Eastenders longest serving actor, Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), has confirmed his split from his wife of 22 years, Beverley Sharp. They married back in 1998 and have two grown up children, Samuel and Jessica. Adam has been seen looking very fit and healthy over the last few weeks having reportedly lost several stone. Quite often there are dramatic changes to our bodies during such a stressful time with people either gaining weight as they overeat, turn to alcohol or eat the wrong things or go completely the other way and lose their appetite and hit the gym as a way of dealing with issues.
The Love Island Tsunami
Love Island has been hit with a breakup tidal wave with Demi Jones and Luke Mabbott and Wes Nelson and Arabella Chi all reportedly calling it a day. Also added to this cluster of break-ups is Georgia Steel and Callum Izzard. They only dated for 7 months before getting engaged.

Ched Uzor and Jess Gale have ended their relationship too. Ched featured on Johnny Seifert’s podcast; “We came out, as you can imagine we had interviews together up and down. We were in London, we were in Manchester. So I spent two weeks with her. Then I came home and then the following Monday we got locked down. So she was in lockdown with her sisters and I was in Suffolk at home with my family. So we haven’t seen each other really.’ He added, ‘We voice note everyday. It’s just harder. Obviously when you haven’t seen somebody you feel like you are not as close.”

Dr Alex has been working hard on the NHS frontline and he also took to Instagram to make the sad announcement. “Guys just want to let you know, Amelia and I have decided to go our separate ways. As you know, we’ve been apart for most of lockdown which has been hard on us both and we both agree this is for the best.”
Shared custody hopes for Kelly
In June, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Brandon Blackstock. They have been married for 7 years. According to Hello Magazine, Entertainment Tonight said “Kelly cited irreconcilable differences and has asked for joint custody of their two children , five-year-old River and four-year-old Remington.”
Laguna Beach star Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler announced their breakup after ten years, another celebrity announcing it via her instagram, “With great sadness, after ten years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made and the children we are so proud of.” If what she says is true, it’s a pity every divorce and separation can’t be as amicable.

Before lock-down hit, we heard that 31 year-old High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler had ended their nine-year relationship. US Weekly reported that an insider revealed. “Vanessa and Austin have officially broken up and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their break-up.”
